‘Best Film’ at Viscera!

Nursery Crimes won Best Film at the Vancouver incarnation of the Viscera Film Festival, hosted by Curio Media! Press release here.

Maybe it hasn’t been wholly obvious on the blog, but Viscera has been very good to us over the last year. Firstly, it’s a non-profit run by women, for women and is dedicated to ensuring that female made genre films are able to find an audience (and you should all go and buy their DVD/enter your films!), and secondly, they’ve been trucking us around all over the world with a host of incredible short films made by a whole lot of very talented people. So to win Best Film when our competition was so incredibly steep is an honour, and a great way to round out 2011 and kick off 2012.

The film was made with the invaluable input of a team of volunteers, so I’ll take the opportunity to say well done  to everyone who put in their time, effort and talent — without you all it would have been a very silent, rather bare effort. Everyone else should disabuse themselves of the notion that I did it remotely by myself ;) Congratulations to Karen and AdaPia at Curio Media for putting together what I’m told was a fantastic event!
